Getting Started With Young Adult Therapy

Academics and work are leading to straight burnout and you’re feeling overwhelmed. Perfectionism and imposter syndrome are coming in strong. Your thoughts are constantly racing. You feel that the weight of the world is sitting on your chest. Painful experiences from the past are impacting your relationships. You speak really harshly to yourself. You can’t seem to communicate well your needs to others, and intense emotions are hard to shake. You’re feeling more and more disconnected from your life. Maybe something here resonates deeply for you.

Working Through Difficulties Together

We will work through all the noise and difficulties together. You are not alone in your struggles. I’m here to support you if relationships with parents, friends, roommates, coworkers, or significant others are not where you want them to be. Let’s identify some goals together. I’ll create a personalized treatment plan for you, and we will work together to get life exactly where you want it to be. The work we’ll do in therapy together is life changing, it’ll help to lift the weight of the world off your chest, and allow you to feel more free, alive, and deeply satisfied in your life.

Therapy Tailored To Your Individual Needs

I’ve been working with college, graduate, law, and medical students at various universities throughout the country for the past 13 years, and now currently in my private practice. I’ve supported young adults (whether in school or out of school) throughout important life chapters, such as getting through school, improving relationships, or landing that dream job. I approach therapy in a thoughtful, comprehensive, evidence-based, and holistic way that is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I’ve been told that the work I do is approachable, that our time together feels safe, that I understand the experiences that Gen Z and Millennials bring in, and those that I work with observe significant changes in their lives in a relatively short amount of time.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities. You are welcome here!

Common Outcomes From Therapy With Young Adults

Common outcomes that I often see include greater connection to life, improvement in relationships, ability to be more present for self and others, greater sense of calm, feeling more grounded, healing and getting unstuck from past challenges, increased satisfaction in relationships, greater connection and understanding of who you are, what makes you you, what’s important to you, and aligning life with all of the above. Clients that I work with find themselves living their lives more authentically, by way of improving their relationship with themselves and others, and finding who they are and what’s important to them. Additionally, they have found that they are making more intentional decisions every day and needed changes to improve their overall health and wellness.

I believe we can all benefit from therapy, whether it’s to address specific and current life challenges, build on coping strategies, have a space where our voice is heard, explore who we are, and to address ongoing challenges that have been keeping us stuck in a life that feels less than ideal. I also believe in a holistic approach to treatment, which incorporates who you are as a whole person. The mind, body, social, and spiritual connection all matter and are intertwined. They have a profound impact on how we function, feel, engage in relationships, and view the world. I would love to hear what you are needing at this time and invite you to connect with me.
