Early Career Consultation Community
At the core of this group is community, safety, and connection.
My intention with offering this group is to create a space where early career professionals and those who might be considering a transition into private practice can come together and support one another in their career ventures. I often hear that private practice can feel lonely, especially if in a solo practice and/or if 100% online. This is why I wanted to create a consultation community that you can rely on, celebrate wins together, work through challenges, brainstorm, and even develop lasting friendships from.
A little about me
I’ve had years of experience working at various university counseling centers across the U.S. I also had the wonderful opportunity to serve in various supportive roles including being a supervisor (individual, group, supervision of supervision), as well as being the Training Director of an APA-Accredited Internship program, practicum program, and I helped to create a postdoc program. I began building my very part-time, side-hustle, private practice in late 2020, and am now fully full-time in the practice.
While I feel very fulfilled with the clinical work, I do miss being a part of supporting emerging and early career professionals, as well as those looking to move into private practice themselves. I looked long and hard for a group like this to exist when I first started out, but didn’t find what I was looking for. I was fortunate though to find this support individually. There’s power in community, and it’s my intention to extend support to you in this way!
Some Logistics (there’ll be some room to co-create this group together):
Frequency- 1x/month, 1 hour each meeting (if it’s determined that more time is needed, we can discuss and adjust)
Cost- $50 per group meeting
Where- Online primarily. I’m still contemplating the potential of in person meetings every now and again (maybe once or twice a year). I would want to discuss this more with the group to get input.
Community Size- 6-8 group members
Day/time options: Tues or Wed 11am or 4pm PST
Commitment- I kindly request that group members commit to at least 6 months (6 group meetings). The goal is to help build community and lasting relationships, and that of course comes with time, trust, safety, and commitment.
Two different groups being offered- one open to Licensed Psychologists, the other open to any degrees in the field of psychology or social work.
Early Career loosely defined as less than 10 years post graduation.
